PAUL D. PESSES
Principal
Paul D. Pesses joined Carnegie
Companies in 1991 and serves as President. Prior to this, Mr.
Pesses served as founder, owner and President of Stonestreet
Management Company, a real estate investment, management and
syndication firm (1983-1993). Mr. Pesses received his Masters in
Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1980 after
graduating from Ohio State University, in 1977 with a Bachelor of
Arts, Summa Cum Laude, in Economics and membership in the Phi Eta
Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
Mr. Pesses has been involved as an active volunteer in the
Cleveland community, holding leadership positions with Big
Brothers, Harvard Business School Club of Northeast Ohio, HFL
Society, and Cuyahoga Community College Foundation. Mr. Pesses
currently serves on the boards of SPACES (a regional arts center)
and Citizen's Academy (a regionally recognized inner-city public
charter school).
PETER C. MEISEL
Principal
Peter C. Meisel
joined Carnegie Companies in 1995. Prior to this, Mr. Meisel had
served, since 1992, as a Managing Director in the Structured
Finance Group of Chemical Securities Inc., specializing in the
structuring and execution of high yield debt transactions in the
public and private markets. He entered the banking industry in
1986, focusing on leveraged buyout financings and mergers and
acquisitions advisory work.
Mr. Meisel received his Masters in Business Administration from
The Darden School, University of Virginia in 1986 after graduating
from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1981 with
a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, in Economics.
Mr. Meisel is a member of the Board of Trustees of Menorah Park
Center for Senior Living and The Cleveland Housing Network, and
has been actively involved in the Jewish Community Federation of
Cleveland and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
FRED SCALESE
Vice President Property Management
Fred Scalese
oversees all aspects of commercial and multi-family property
management, including site visits, tenant relations, property
maintenance, capital
improvements, etc. Mr. Scalese is also responsible for commercial tenant
marketing and leasing, leasing negotiations, third-party contracting, on-site employee
supervision and budgeting.
Before joining Carnegie in 1996, Mr. Scalese was Executive Manager
for the Village Green Management Company, where he supervised
their northeast Ohio apartment portfolio. From 1993 to 1995, as
Business Manager with Associated Estates Realty Corporation, Mr. Scalese managed four apartment communities totaling 1,920
homes. From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Scalese worked with Forest City
Management, Inc., as a Leasing Consultant, a Leasing Manager, and
then as a Property Manager.
Mr. Scalese attended Cleveland State University. He is listed in
Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
DAVE RICHARDS
Senior Asset & Facilities Manager
Dave Richards,
assists in, and has direct oversight of, all aspects of the
multi-family and commercial property management function, both
operational and informational. In addition to his general
duties, he has direct responsibility for a specific portfolio of
the company's multi-family and commercial properties.
Prior to joining Carnegie, Mr. Richards was employed by Associated
Estates Realty Corp., where he started as a property Maintenance
Director and was promoted to Building Manager of a 739 unit
apartment community. Before his employment at Associated Estates,
Mr. Richards worked with Forest City Management as the
Superintendent of a 635 unit apartment community. In addition, Mr.
Richards has had prior experience in retail management.
Mr. Richards attended Toledo University, with a major in Business
Management.
DEIRDRE WOLPAW
Property Manager
Deirdre Wolpaw
assists in, and has direct oversight of, all aspects of the
commercial property management function, both operational and
informational.
Ms. Wolpaw managed over 400,000 square feet of multi-tenant
commercial space for Snider-Cannata, just prior to joining
Carnegie in 2003. Preceding her employment with Snider-Cannata,
Ms. Wolpaw was the Facilities Manager for a 215,000 square foot
corporate headquarters complex for a Fortune 200 company.
Ms. Wolpaw has experience with office and retail tenants, as well
as providing management services to corporate clients.
Additionally, she has participated in ground-up construction
projects, tenant build-outs, and residential home development.
Tenant relations have been an important focus throughout Ms.
Wolpaw’s career.
Ms. Wolpaw attended The American University in Paris and has
participated in other college coursework and various professional
educational programs.
SCOTT BASKIND
Senior
Property Manager
Scott Baskind,
assists in residential property-related issues and details, both
operational and informational. Mr. Baskind currently has direct
responsibility for a specific portfolio of the company’s
residential properties.
Mr. Baskind joined Carnegie in 1996 as Building Manager of a 220
unit apartment community. In 2000, Mr. Baskind joined the
corporate staff as Assistant Property Manager with involvement in
a portfolio of residential properties. Prior to joining Carnegie,
he was Residential Manager and Leasing Manager for a 900 unit
apartment community. Previously he was Marketing Manager for the
largest property management company in the southeast U.S. where he
participated in all phases of leasing and marketing.
Mr. Baskind has also had experience as an account executive for a
regional apartment guide publication.
Mr. Baskind holds a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University.
